What originally was a news section for the rest of the website soon became a place for me to write about human-powered wanderings in the countryside. Photography inspires me to get out there, mostly on foot these days, though cycling got me started. Musings on the wider context of outdoor activity complete the picture, so I hope that there is something of interest in all that you find here. Thank you for coming!
I am after spending a weekend exploring Pembrokeshire, particularly its coastline (more about that in a later article that is the second part of this little series). Here are some websites that aided and abetted my (rather hurried) planning:
Greenways: Bus options for visitors
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority: includes the Pembrokeshire Coastal Trail and the Preseli hills among its attractions.
visitwales.com: website of the Welsh tourism agency; proved invaluable for sorting out accommodation.
Traveline Cymru: more transport planning
Arriva Trains Wales: invaluable for train timetables
And these volumes gave me more of a feel for what I was doing: Rough Guide to Wales, Lonely Planet Walking in Britain.
I will tell you more about my visit later…
