New year, new name
5th January 2008A name change can be risky and confusing business, especially when the one that is being replaced has been in existence for a while. However, there comes a time when something grows beyond its name. From the moniker HennessyBlog, it wasn’t clear that this was a blog musing over matters related to outdoor excursions; I have read enough on the business of blogging (The Blog Herald has supplied a lot of this) to realise that a descriptive name helps so here goes. Hopefully, Collected Musings of a Hill Wanderer addresses this and reflects the main reason that people visit without sounding too pompous. The last thing that I want to go doing is changing names as often as the now defunct British Leyland did. Have a great 2008.
Comments:
Congrats on the sense of new name, but same URL – makes it so much easier to track down.
That’s what I wanted to achieve: remove the “what’s this?” for new visitors while not losing my regulars in cyberspace. Cheers for the plug, by the way.
No problem – glad to help.
