Drawing a little inspiration from an Austrian trip earlier in the year, an extra day of annual leave was added to 2016's Summer Bank Holiday weekend to allow time for a few days in Norway. In that time, I got to visit both Oslo and Bergen while fitting in a train ride between the two and a walk around some hills near the latter. Like its Austrian predecessor, even an elongated bank holiday weekend was enough for only an introduction. Oslo could have used an extra day for a more strolling about the place in sunshine as could Bergen where I fancy the idea of an extended excursion about nearby fjords. Still, I got the break that I needed and it is good to leave places wanting to return to them again.
