The views from near Brandegg stopped me in my tracks and this is a north-eastward one featuring both sides of the valley where Grindelwald is found. At the time, I was walking from there to Kleine Scheidegg hoping for views of the Eiger. Cloud scuppered that hope but scenes like the one in the photo more than compensated. Burg, seen close up in another photo in the album, is seen here too but not as prominently because of the cloud-shrouded Winteregg and its neighbours that overlook it. They also obstruct views towards Brienzersee, which is just to the other side of these. Remarking this reminds me of the journey from Grindelwald from Geneva that featured a change at Interlaken so I got to glimpse Brienzersee's neighbour, Thunersee, and thus was not that deprived of lake spottting.
