Making an image with Cobh's cathedral is tricky from beside it. It works better from further away, though not nearly as far away as shown above. Nevertheless, you still might see how the spire dominates what lies around the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cloyne.
The image was made during a foray into Curraghbinny Wood that made use of a ride on bus service 223 with longer walks from the stops that I used, especially, the one nearest the wood itself. That distance nearly cost me a bus departure only for a driver facilitating me where I was. If there had been a bridge across the Owenboy River from Crosshaven, it would have made things a lot easier.
That explains how this was not a location that I had explored earlier. On the October bank holiday afternoon when I was there, others were lured by the autumnal sunshine, many of them families making using of a midterm break from school as well as the bank holiday itself. Though compact, there are looped walks here as well as a summer house and viewpoint for seeing what lies around this spot.
