Lough Mahon, Cork, Éire

In some ways, Cork Harbour is not as scenic a place as it might have been. Industrialisation is one reason for this as much as the construction of busy roads carrying traffic away from the city centre. Nevertheless, it does have its sections of Greenway that attract many for more active recreational uses. Parts are not unpretty though, as you can see from the above. Thus, any promise of sunshine will draw people out to wander this way to get away from the built-up confines of the city and its suburbs.
