There is more to being human than travelling around the world sampling its many delights, and recent reading has taken me deeper into subjects like philosophy. Though I am a scientist by training, the humanities continue to appeal to me, and various life events have led me to explore them more than otherwise might have been the case. That is now the main thrust of what you find here, along with other things that have a use in navigating life’s journey.
This is where I get to collect out of copyright essays from influential authors that contributed to current thinking on the appreciation of the natural world. A start has been made using writings from Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, but others may follow as I find them, or I get to looking for them. Both men ventured into philosophy in their writings, so that is how this section got its name. Anything in the Essays section is my own doing, and Project Gutenberg is a good place to look if you want to find more like what is found here.
