A few day trips to Wooler have seen me up around these humps, and it took until July 2011 before I passed them on the way to Kirk Yetholm. In fact, that is what I was doing when this scene grabbed me enough for a photograph to be made. With conditions being a little hazy at this point, my preference is to return some time to make more of these hummocks and the other high points around them. So far, I scarcely have scratched the surface when it comes to exploring Northumberland's hills, and they are deserving of more attention.
