Outdoor Discoveries

What originally was a news section for the rest of the website soon became a place for me to write about human-powered wanderings in the countryside. Photography inspires me to get out there, mostly on foot these days, though cycling got me started. Musings on the wider context of outdoor activity complete the picture, so I hope that there is something of interest in all that you find here. Thank you for coming!

New Cadair Idris photos

During 2006, I paid two visits to Dolgellau and Cadair Idris. The first of these was at the end of January when I mounted the frozen slopes of the Cadair by way of the Pony Track but did not go the whole way so that I would not get benighted or miss my bus back to Wrexham, the first step of my journey home. August was when I finally went all the way to the top and there is a trip report telling you more about that.
