Þingvallavatn, Þingvellir National Park, Iceland

Earlier in the July day when I going around these parts, the sun was in the wrong place for my intended photo of the large lake of Þingvallavatn. Later, there was another chance and it is from then that the photo comes. For all the geological action around here, the lie of much of the land looks very flat and that is how there is such a huge lake near the fault where the American and European plates meet. Geothermal energy is exploited along the lake shore too though that is well to the south of the vantage point for my photographic exertions.
