There is more to being human than travelling around the world sampling its many delights, and recent reading has taken me deeper into subjects like philosophy. Though I am a scientist by training, the humanities continue to appeal to me, and various life events have led me to explore them more than otherwise might have been the case. That is now the main thrust of what you find here, along with other things that have a use in navigating life’s journey.
To be truthful, it has taken some time for American state codes to stick to my memory but there also are Canadian provincial & territorial codes too. All are two letters in length so you can see why residents of the U.S.A. and Canada would use them instead of the longer names. Just so I have them to hand whenever I might need them, I am sharing them here and they may prove useful for others not living in North America as well.
In addition to these, there are other state-like codes that you will find. The national capital is in the District of Columbia so you get to see the legend "Washington, DC" rather a lot. There are armed services codes too in the form of AA for Armed Forces America, AE for Armed Forces Europe and AP for Armed Forces Pacific. To me, these look like the British Forces Post Office that the U.K. has so most may not have need for such things.
