My wanderings are urban as well as rural, and several have taken me overseas around Europe and to North America. All have needed at least some planning: knowing what to see and where to stay remain ever present needs. That and remaining ever open to new possibilities have contributed to what you find here. Everything builds up over time, and I hope that the horizons continue expanding to mean that I can continue to share new things with you here.
Transatlantic travel is being restored but the ongoing pandemic means that many of us still feel the need to be cautious. The more courageous have been making the best of being vaccinated, but the second winter season of the pandemic sees high case counts so care is in order. For that reason, the compendium of websites that is presented here is there to get us dreaming and perhaps planning new escapades for when it all works out for us. Patience can have its rewards.
Once we can get going again, places in California that I would like to see include parts of the Sierra Nevada and sections of its coastline; I am a mountain and coastline person. The San Francisco Bay Area sounds tempting, as do the Yosemite, Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. Additionally, the area around Lake Tahoe is an alluring proposition, especially since car-free travel could be more of a possibility there. These form my California dreams for now and it is better to have something in mind for when opportunities arise.
