Whiteless Pike & Grasmoor, Buttermere, Cumbria, England

When I glimpsed this scene the evening before, the sun was in the process of retiring for the day, so it was not enjoying that blessed it the following morning. The forecast was not the most promising, so I made the most of the conditions before breakfast when they allowed for glimpses like what you see above. Beyond the track leading to Buttermere village, the head of Whiteless Pike and the wedge of Grasmoor rise. Just to confirm that these are the actual fells that we see here, I wouldn’t mind a return visit that allowed me to explore their slopes.
