Instead of going up over Thornthwaite Crag, Froswick, Ill Bell and Yoke after coming down a steep rough slope from Caudale Moor into Threshthwaite Mouth, I decided to head for the nearby valley bottom instead and skies really had cleared for a wonderful evening. What you see above is the view back along Hagg Gill towards Threshthwaite Mouth. It may not look it above, but there was a lot of descent left to do before I reached this point. Eventually, things levelled off for the trot back to Windermere of an evening with its own share of hot sunny interludes.
