It has been a while since I walked from Borrowdale to Great Langdale via the Cumbria Way. At the start, I enjoyed bright sunshine, but cloud had rolled in by the time that I reached my destination. Even now, I still have yet to enjoy being in Great Langdale with the sun lighting up the place. The closest that I have got is seeing the Langdale Pikes from Orrest Head, near Windermere. Future visits to the likes of Elterwater and Lingmoor Fell could draw me back, and I have been known to play with the idea of walking from Borrowdale to Grasmere too, which would reveal other sides to these fells.
If I had something what is brightening up the Scottish sounding Langstrath above, I would have been in my element. The start of my walking was far from solitary though the passing walking fraternity had thinned out by the time I got where this scene was captured. The landscape may look empty above, but I simply had picked my vantage point and bided my time. After all, who said a camera never lies?
