Loughrigg Fell, Ambleside, Cumbria, England

When I now look at the course I took from Ambleside over Loughrigg Fell on the August day when I captured this scene, I am left wondering at the logic of it for the route certainly was not direct. Of course, a walk is a walk for all that though it would have been better not to lose the prospect of sunlight views over Grasmere in so doing. The day had started sunny, and I took in Orrest Head before trying for Loughrigg Fell and clouds hijacked the sky while I was crossing it. Later, showers would move in ahead of steady overnight rain that continued into the next day. Still, views like the above were on show at times and that was sufficient compensation. That Grasmere view needs another visit.
