Place Fell, Patterdale, Cumbria, England

The previous photo of Place Fell that I had on here came from an August walk from near Grasmere to Patterdale that took in such places as Grisedale Tarn, Fairfield, Hart Crag and Hartsop above How. This was in 2005 and places looked a little dessicated after what was a fine summer and there was heat haze too. In the January scene above, things appear very different with patches of snow still evident after the lengthy cold snaps that came during the winter of 2009/2010. From the valley bottom where the view was captured I went to the top of Place Fell beyond descending to the shore of Ullswater and then back to the bus stop where I commenced my journey home again after a glorious day of walking.
