Flasby Fell, Gargrave, North Yorkshire, England

When you leave the South Pennines after you on a northbound trek, the Pennine Way takes on a somewhat gentler aspect, for a short while anyway. In fact, I reckon that the stretch of the Way in the Yorkshire Dales is the best that I have sampled so far and might be the most pleasurable of the whole route. The section between Gargrave and Malham is very much of that mould, but it is not without interest either, even that from a low sized hill illuminated by some fleeting evening sunshine.
