Here's more big wide open country and this pervades from Horton all the way to Hawes. It's easy to stride at your own pace and relax on quiet well-made tracks like these, so long as the 4x4 fraternity don't insist on churning them up. Personally, I cannot fathom why anyone would travel at 3 mph in a motorised vehicle when it's easier to walk than drive. Untrammelled tracks mean that you don't need to watch your foot placement or keep your eyes peeled for nefarious vehicles either.
