Lower Lake, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire, England

This is a view of the lake nearest to the end of the Pavilion Gardens that is closest to the centre of Buxton. To call it something, I have chosen the name of Lower Lake when others have called another one the Upper Lake. The more observant among you may note a house peering through tree cover at the left but trees and shrubs are the main sight next to the water here. Foliage colours varying deep red or purple through to white and yellow with fresh greens remaining on many of the leaves that sprouted only weeks earlier. The vibrancy of green foliage partly is what makes the May so special for me and is one of the Sundays in May 2014 on which this scene was captured. The mixture of darker vegetation make for tricky exposures on bright sunny days and a cloudier one with more diffuse light would offer more diffused lighting that better suits a sight like this one. Even so, I hope that it looks pleasing enough as it is.
