Opera House, Buxton, Derbyshire, England

Through the vegetation, we peer at the domes dominating the frontage of Buxton's Opera House. During Buxton's summer festival, it comes into its own and dates from 1903. For a time from the 1930's until the end of the 1970's, it was used as a cinema bit it reverted to being a theatre following a restoration in 1979. It was designed by Frank Matcham and there are no pillars obstructing the view for those on upper levels dues to the cantilever design chosen for supporting them.
