St. Michael's Church, Chester, Cheshire, England

St. Michael

Appearances can be deceptive sometimes and so it is with this photo. For all the world, you'd be forgiven for thinking that this was a church located in a rural village somewhere in the north of England. In fact, the building is sited right next to the busy junction of Bridge Street, Grosvenor Street, Lower Bridge Street and Pepper Street in Chester. As if that subterfuge weren't enough It is not even a religious building these days either. In fact, it once was the home of Chester History and Heritage until that moved to the Grosvenor Museum. Also included in the same move was a bank of historical images of the city and county.
