The Groves, Chester, Cheshire, England

If you want to feel as if you are a world away from its other attractions, you could do worse that wander along the banks of the River Dee in Chester. This scene was captured on the western side of the river underneath the Queen's Park Bridge as it cast its shadow upon the waters as a small boat was passing. When I ended up down around here on my first ever trip to Chester, the contrast made such an impression on me that I rated this part of the city above any other for a time. It was if I found more tranquil surroundings in a place where there is so much hustle and bustle.
