Melchett Mere, Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire, England

The months of November and December in 2012 saw me visit Tatton Park a few times and walks going around Tatton Mere were involved. Some of these circuits took in more of Tatton and this photo comes from a December visit when I fancied my chances at a closer photo of Tatton Mere. This picture of Melchett Mere comes from then and storms had relieved trees of the colourful leaves that they had been hoarding during the autumn, yet another excuse for visits while they lasted. The ground was drier than it had been during November, but that's not to say that there weren't some muddy patches and I needed the boots with which I was shod. It's views like these that provide excuses for returns and I hope to keep doing just that.
