White Nancy, Kerridge, Cheshire, England

Stepping away from the Macclesfield for a while brings us to yet another local landmark and one that I can see from my own house, pylons and chimneys permitting. Being located atop a hill and painted white does help with being noticed from afar. However, that's never to say that pranksters and vandals haven't left their traces. The activities of the former had the thing painted pink and the locals utterly unamused, but all traces of that one have been obliterated. There was a time when you could go into the structure, a feature that supports its being a garden house built by a local wealthy family. Sadly, the attentions of the unappreciative mean that opportunity for shelter has been taken from us.
