Betty's, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England

Betty

Betty's, whose home dominates the photo above, is a tea shop and Harrogate institution. The building itself crowns Montpelier Parade and its main entrance is on Parliament Street. However, watch out for the queues and those prices! Nevertheless, the experience is worth it: how many other cafeterias can boast live piano accompaniment? Not only this but you can go celebrity-spotting as well. Alf Wight (a.k.a. James Herriot) was a regular until his death in 1996.
