Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland, England

The classic view of Bamburgh Castle is usually one from Harkness Rocks further to the north but the time of day when I was about meant that the sun was in the wrong part of the sky for that to look at its best. Therefore, I was happy with an alternative viewpoint that had me peering at the castle from the beach and with a nice bit of optical guidance from the nearby dunes. It worked well that the October sunshine obligingly flattered this subject and others as I walked from here to Belford. Such delights inspire gratitude, especially when life is tough on you as it was for me back then.
