All Saints Church, Bakewell, Derbyshire, England

It could have been around Easter 2001 when I first caught sight of Bakewell's All Saints Church. That was on a dull Bank Holiday Monday after a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon the day before, and it took until April 2013 before I had the sort of lighting needed to make the sort of image that you see above. If Tideswell's Church of St. John the Baptist is known as the Cathedral of the Peak, then you have to wonder if this would the Cathedral of the Derbyshire Dales with its high spire and its lofty situation. The wait is something that I reckon was worthwhile, and you hopefully see it in the same way.
