Cat's Tor, Rainow, Cheshire, England

Cat

Shining Tor may be Cheshire's county top, but it is without the sort of landscape profile that nearby Shutlingsloe has. Nevertheless, there is a northward walk along the whaleback that extends from it. Part of that is Cat's Tor, which you can see here, and Pym Chair, which is hidden. In fact, this route has taken me to as far as Whaley Bridge though you are stitching together roads and public rights of way as you pass Windgather Rocks, Kettleshulme and Toddbrook Reservoir. All of that commands a level of concentration that can slip, so allowing some blundering. That aside, it makes for a great day out.
