The Gritstone Trail crosses Spond’s Hill on its way between Bollington and Disley, and I have been along this stretch three times. The first of these was on a day of fog and low visibility while the second suffered from clouding skies. The third eventually met the same fate as the second but not before giving me glimpses of Derbyshire moors like those you see above. As far as I can work out, that glint of blue to the right of centre is Toddbrook Reservoir near Whaley Bridge. Then, the brown-topped hills should be those around Kinder Scout if my reasoning is correct. The vantage point may be Cheshire, yet a vista can glue things together in a mind when nothing else will.
