Errwood Reservoir, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, England

My first ever visit to the Goyt valley was when I was walking the Midshires Way between Buxton and Whaley Bridge on a July Saturday that started with overcast skies before a mixture of sunshine and showers followed suit. It meant that photographic activity was going to be limited. There have been attempts since then, but there was a long gap until October 2012 when the above scene was captured. Then, I was on a walk from the Cat and Fiddle Inn to Whaley Bridge while advancing cloud started to catch up with me as I made my way along the Goyt valley. That made the lighting flatter than I would have like, so I have it in mind to do better should the chance come my way again.
