Holy Trinity Church, Ashford-in-the-Water, Derbyshire, England

Ashford-in-the-Water is a village with quite a few charms and the church is but one. Others include a packhorse bridge with adjoining enclosures allowing the washing of sheep. Unsurprisingly, the bridge is called the Sheepwash Bridge. It is no longer open to traffic which adds to its appeal. A market stand and many pleasant houses make Ashford very photogenic. For a while, I seemed to be catching it too late in the day for photographic exploits, so this is an exposure from earlier in the day. Sometimes, more determined efforts are needed and above is an example of the rewards of one of these.
