Win Hill, Bamford, Derbyshire, England

Win Hill is separated from nearby Lose Hill by the Vale of Edale, something that facilitates railway and road connections to the valley. Legend has that two battles were fought concurrently, one on Win Hill and the other on Lose Hill, and that is how the hills were named. Though an intriguing tale, there is little in the way of supporting evidence to support such a claim. It does nothing to take away from the delights of walk around here and an autumnal return may be needed to get a brighter photo when the heather is in flower and the lighting is more amenable to showing it off at its best.
