Dowber Gill Wham and Hag Dike Beck, Kettlewell, North Yorkshire, England

If you need some convincing as to why there is so much access land about Kettlewell, then topography like this should provide it. The photo captures how the top of the valley cut out by Dowber Gill Beck looks of a glorious summer evening. The valley's lower reaches are themselves a fantastic sight, with interlocking spurs no doubt left over from the last ice age. There was a time when I considered that my efforts to capture it on film left something to be desired, but I am inclined to change my mind and might have a go at some processing to see if I share some of that drama on here. Saying that, I think that making some time to return may be in order.
