Custom House, Dublin, Éire

Dublin's rather imposing Custom House is another of James Gandon's contributions to its architectural heritage. His others include the Four Courts, O'Connell Bridge, the eastern wing of Parliament House, now home to an office of the Bank of Ireland, and the King's Inns. Such is the compactness of Dublin city centre that none of these stray at all far from the banks of the river Liffey. That makes a ramble along one of them sufficient to see a few of Dublin's architectural gems in one go.
