Torc Waterfall, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Éire

It may or may not surprise you, but there can be photos to be made in the outdoors when the weather on the day forbids the capturing of wider vistas. So it was on the day when I captured this beguiling view of Torc Waterfall. In fact, the air was damp while I was engaged in creating the photo but its appeal shines out nonetheless. There may be no folk in shot, but this is a well frequented spot close to the main road from Killarney to Kenmare and with its own car park too. Not only that but it's a mere stone's throw from Muckross House and Park, a real tourist magnet if ever there was one. Muckross has never granted me any luck with the weather, but Torc has obliged regardless. The Kerry Way passes by it, and I was sorely tempted by the prospect of following the long distance trail along the predecessor to the current N71 as far as Galway's Bridge. Some day, I may set that one to rights.
