Drinking Fountain, People

Limerick's People's Park was created in honour of Richard Russell, a prominent local businessman, and the drinking fountain in this photo was provided by the employees of Russell Flour Mills and the former Carnegie library. The fountain was unveiled at the same time and was refurbished in 2009 to bring it into the condition that you see here. Even five years later when this view was capture, it retained its pristine appearance and the red and white paintwork stands out against the surrounding greenery.
