Bay ny Carrickey, Isle of Man

Much of the walking along the route of the Raad ny Foillan around Port St. Mary follows roads and this extends a good deal of the way east to Castletown too. Favouring off-road strolling, I was happy to leave that after me for a while as I covered the miles on the way to Castletown, my destination for the day. This scene was captured not long after I had left the tarmac behind and looks back over Bay ny Carrickey towards hills to the north-west. There were signs of rain shower activity on the other side of the bay and around Port St. Mary with some of the shower cloud making its appearance in the top left of the photo. Thankfully, this did not disturb me for the rest of way to Castletown though there was a wetting and I around Port St. Mary.
