When I first saw this lake, it was under grey skies and in damp wetting air. After coming down from Preikestolen, I saw it under brighter skies and did not for a minute think myself short-changed. In fact, I enjoyed a hike all around it even if the vegetation got me wet in the process; the waterproof trousers should have been left on me, but I must have fancied feeling less clammy or had unreasonable expectations of the path that I was following. In any case, my clothes dried quickly afterwards, and I was left with brighter memories.
