Norway had its own parliament long before the dissolution of the union with Sweden took place. It was there where much of the political action leading to the country's full independence took place. What you see in the photo is a view of the building's centrepiece captured during my second visit to Norway and when lighting flattered the edifice. Norway's royal palace and national theatre are not far away, so this is a national epicentre in the country. Since there is a small public garden too, dawdling hereabouts is both possible and worthwhile.
