Looking towards Ben Avon from Morrone, Braemar, Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

The day may have started with a dreich look in Aberdeen, yet I was determined to get in some hill wandering. In contrast to the previous day when one might have fancied delusions of eternal summer, this was a very autumnal affair with a smattering of showers to go with the chill. Nevertheless, I made it all the way to the top of Morrone, savouring any views when weather allowed. While the prospect of peering at Lochnagar might have appealed to me, the above photo is more a case of peering in the direction of Ben Avon with its numerous tops hidden in the cloud cover. Nevertheless, it took little from whatever satisfaction came my way on the day.
