In many ways, it felt as if Braeriach was ever present on this out and back hike to Loch Eanaich from Aviemore. In truth, that did not feel so obvious at the outset. It was only in the vicinity of the loch itself, the return and working what I had photographed afterwards that the realisation really hit me. In the May evening light, I hardly could take my eyes off its corries and it snow-streaked countenance. There was also too much photographic capture because it was if I sought to bring the whole thing home with me, am absurd urge that strikes me at times while out in hill country.
