It is quite something after a lengthy piece of travelling to find yourself glimpsing sites like this. Ironically, this surveys the last part of the journey north from Macclesfield, in particularly the final approach to Aviemore through Strathspey. That passed both Loch Alvie and Loch Insh, offering occasional viewings of these as terrain and vegetation allowed. The little piece of height gain came in advanced of the climbing to higher summits the next day.
