Loch an Eilein, Cairngorms National Park, Scotland

This photo comes a springtime dalliance with the Cairngorms in 2023. By then, any sense of pride from having hiked all the way from Nethy Bridge had been dissipated by a stumble on the shore of Loch Morlich. Even so, I managed to make time to capture scenes like this of Loch an Eilein with its island castle scarcely visible in the middle right of the picture. The flank of Creag Dubh and its satellite spur of Creag Fhiaclach are far more prominent as is the loch itself. It all offered momentary compensations before I returned to Aviemore and attended to any scuffs that my earlier mishap had brought me way.
