While this scene may give a very different impression, it is not at all far for the heart of Aviemore. That was just as well because I needed to call to a shop on a bank holiday with shorter hours of trading, all because of a tumble earlier in the day. Before all that, there was time to take one last sighting of the Cairngorms before I attended to that errand. There are some places on this earth where you do not need to go far to feel as if you are in wilder surroundings, and this is one of those.
