Beinn Nuis, Beinn Tarsuinn & Goatfell, Brodick, Isle of Arran, Scotland

Goatfell may be the highest mountain on Arran, but it is far being the island's only summit. In fact, there is a saying that Arran is all of Scotland in miniature. With its fertile and populous south and its mountainous north, it is hard not to see why someone thought of that one. And it is the hill country that could is the main attraction for me. Nevertheless, most visitors to the island head to its south-eastern side. I assume that they must be after beaches and sunshine; that said, Arran is not lacking when it comes to sandy shoreline.
