Duart Bay, Isle of Mull, Scotland

Duart Bay, Isle of Mull, Scotland

Once, there was a photo like this taken from the Oban to Craignure ferry of a Friday morning in August 2001. In those days, my use of an SLR was perhaps less expert than it is today, so the photos did not turn out like what I had hoped. While I never make great claims for my photographic skill, this is what I managed from near Duart Point of a Sunday morning in August 2014. Something that has progressed in my life is my sense of what surrounds me, so I can pick out Maol nan Uan at the right with Sgurr Dearg behind it. Those lower hills at the left still cause me to wonder much like they did with that photo from 2001. Nevertheless, I now reckon that the larger hummock is Creach-beinn with Meall nan Capall to its right. To further confirm this, I fancy another trip to Mull and the lower tops of Carn Bàn or Maol an t-Searraich offering different vantage points not so far south of Lochdon.
