Blackwater Reservoir & Mamores from Beinn a' Chrùlaiste, Glen Coe, Lochaber, Scotland

There were ample sightings of Blackwater Reservoir while I was traipsing the summit of Beinn a' Chrùlaiste. However, here is a scene from when I was starting my descent that includes its dam. Though the industrial intrusion into a wilder landscape hardly feels out of place these days, it cannot have felt that way when it was being built or for a time after that. Nowadays, the streak of blue sets off all the buckled countryside that lies around it. While heat haze may bedevil this July scene, there remains enough that is alluring for me not to feel shortchanged.
