Loch Linnhe from Cow Hill, Fort William, Lochaber, Scotland

This view south from Cow Hill takes one's eyes towards hills that I often see while en route too and from Fort William. In June 2024, when this image was made, I booked accommodation a few kilometres south of Fort William, granting me closer sightings of these and at a slower pace too. However, those hills reached by a ferry crossing of the Corran Narrows only drew me over there once in my life so far. That may have been in 2009 under heavily laden grey December skies. Given that seeing them in brighter weather remains outstanding, that is another excuse for returning to these parts, and joins re-explorations of the western end of the Great Glen Way as a lure for such a venture.
