Peat Law & Eildon Hills from the Three Brethren, Selkirk, Borders, Scotland

This is the eastern view from near the Three Brethren, a trio of distinctive cairns to be found by the Souther Upland Way between Traquair and Galashiels or Melrose. Those shapely tops popping above the horizon at the left of the picture are none other than the illustrious Eildon Hills near Melrose, the destination for my walk from Selkirk on the day when this scene was captured. Hare Law is the rounded bump at the right along whose lower slopes the aforementioned national trail goes before descending into Yair Hill Forest. The Scottish Borders may be farming country, but there are wilder parts to be discovered there too.
